As you’re probably aware, the fund-raising platform that we’ve developed at Veterans Legacy goes by the moniker of Veterans Legacy Patriot Partners.
With the seeming explosion of various right wing groups that have developed in the last few years that co-opt the term Patriot into their names, the discussion of how our program would be viewed came up at a recent Board of Directors meeting.

It finally happened – we got a tractor!!! Well it’s true we owe our soul to the Company Store but it’s sure nice to
have an excellent piece of equipment. In short, it’s a 48hp. Branson, 4 wheel drive with a frontend loader. We also stepped up and got a 6ft. brush mower which has made the mowing process much more efficient (check out the new drone footage and see some of Bob O’Brien’s mowing expertise from the air). We could sure use some help in paying the tab at the Company Store – your donations to Veterans Legacy would be much appreciated. Donate Here A big thank you to Farwest Steel for their generous donation of this welder to Camp Alma. A special thank you to Dave Hendricks and Nik Thebo for their coordination in making it happen!
The walk-in freezer and refrigerator were removed due to damage. Rick Summers oversaw the demolition and remodel. A special thanks to Home Depot for donating the drywall, tile and grout! The kitchen is almost complete!

The Eugene Lions Club held a trivia night fundraiser for Veterans Legacy in April. Lion Jim Origliosso presents Dan Buckwald with a check for $2,400. It was a great night to meet new friends and try to answer some tough questions! Thanks to all.
Veterans Legacy’s Executive Director Dan Buckwald accepting a check for $10,000 from the Impact Club!!! A great group with a great concept!
The Impact Club is a unique group of folks that meet quarterly to listen to three non profit organizations speak to their cause. They then vote on the most compelling story and provide the winner with a check to make a real difference for that group. All monies awarded stay in Lane County! |
